Through my experience at becoming an award-winning lettering artist and helping others do the same, here’s the most important discovery I can share with you...

Now, after years of teaching and teaching hundreds of workshops in lettering, I discovered there were really two groups of aspiring artists...

THE HOBBYIST

This was the vast majority of people. These people typically signed up for a workshop or course as a “pastime”. And their results were "ok" but generally didn’t keep at it, and after a while, they lost interest.

THE LETTERING PRO

This was a much smaller group. These aspiring artists experienced progress much faster, keeping at it month after month, and producing work that was so compelling, that eventually caught the attention of brands and clients. The best part is that they were getting paid for doing work they loved and exceled at!

Needless to say, I paid attention to the Lettering Pros and the things that worked for them and me when I started. It became clear that I could create a space where artists could come to grow year after year.
