Creating your own lettering – Workshop – 30th of March
In this is a hands-on intensive workshop you will be introduced to effective techniques to create a lettering from scratch. In this 6 hour session participants will drive the process of drawing and refining their own design.
It is ideal for beginners and for those with previous experience who want to improve their techniques to draw type.
The workshop will be held by Martina Flor a Designer and Letterer based in Berlin on the 30th of March 2013 from 13 to 19 hs.
What you need to bring: your favourite automatic pencil and paper. The rest will be provided.

Lettering vs Calligraphy
On display February 28th – April 6th, 2013
Opening Party:
February 28th from 7.00pm
with a presentation by Giuseppe and Martina at 7.30pm
After three months online, Lettering vs Calligraphy sets its first exhibition. Martina Flor and Giuseppe Salerno present their library of letters in a show that allows visitors to vote for their favourites. The installation includes more than one hundred letter forms that bring the craft of drawing letters and the art of writing into one picture.
Workshop
LVSC – OFFICIAL WORKSHOP IN BERLIN
A unique laboratory that combines both: lettering and calligraphy.
In a 2 days calendar, the participants will explore the two technical approaches as combinatory tools within the same design process.
The workshop consists in theoretical input combined with hands-on-work and critique rounds. It is ideal for art and design students and professionals who want to explore the possibilities of calligraphy in combination with drawing techniques and digital tools. In a few words, we will use writing and drawing for creating an unique typographic unit (or more). You will walk away from this workshop with a sharper eye when working with letters and with practical tools that will improve your own creative work.

Kurzprojekt at Fachbereich Design Dessau
I was an invited lecturer at HS Anhalt. I conducted a Short Project in Type DEsign, where the students learned type design basics and the process of making a font. The results of the project are documented in this blog where the resulting fonts are available for free download under the open font license.
Monsters character design
This is one of the most fun commissions I ever had. I did the character design of 20 monsters that have exchangeable features. Go monsters! app was developed by Digital Social Club, you can find it the App Store.
